Gentle trails for those learning about trail running; some elevation changes but little in the way of rocks or roots to contend with; more open tracks. An out and back route

A move up from the 5k in distance and technical course; more elevation changes, rocks, roots and single track; great scenery but you may miss some of it as you concentrate on the running.

More of everything – elevation changes, turns and twists, forested track, rocks and roots; experience all that Albion Hills has to offer! Look out for the Gnarly Berm descendants near the half way point.

Excel Running
Welcome to Excel Running!

In late 2016 we purchased the series from Michael Brennan with the intention of continuing the fine traditions he had created. Unfortunately we ran into several complications with permitting and did not get the races off the ground for 2017. This year we have three new races planned: “Gnarly Berms at Albion Hills”, "Spring Fling at Heart Lake", and a Thanksgiving Turkey Trot (still in permit stage).

We are first and foremost runners and put on races that we think will have interest to both novice and experienced runners. Our first two races are at Toronto conservation sites. There are 5k, 10k and 15k events. The 5k races are designed for runners new to trails – good scenery but not too technically challenging; as the distances go up, so does the technicality of the courses. You will find that even for trail courses, we have done a pretty good job of measuring the courses (lots of running them). There is some overlap on the courses but we prefer not to have loops.

Our races will always have good food (usually catered), medals, a great give away that you will use, adequate parking and facilities, and a great timing service. Runners are encouraged to bring their own fluids, though we will have water stops as the road access permits (particularly for the longer distances). We make every effort to “idiot proof” our signage but we can’t guarantee everyone pays attention all of the time.

We are long time members of the Burlington Runners Club and have worked in all race capacities at races for the past 10 years, including The Sulphur Springs Trail Races and the Iroquoia Trail Test Races.

We hope you enjoy our races.
Eric, Zoë & Myles Cameron
